Stamford has adopted American standards-based curriculum, based on the rigorous and proven American Education Reaches Out (AERO) and Common Core Plus standards taught using an inquiry-based approach. This blend of the traditional and progressive prepares students for the rigor of high school and IBDP*, as well as nurturing curiosity and problem-solving needed for post-academic success.
In Grades 6-8, students begin to dive deeper into subject-specific content, skills, and concepts, making a transition from the heavily transdisciplinary nature of elementary studies to a blend of interdisciplinary and subject-specific areas of learning.
Mr. Neil Walton, our Upper School Principal, will introduce Stamford’s middle school curriculum and the Stamford approach to teaching and learning. Learn how our middle school program prepares students to take responsibility for their learning, develop proper time management, note-taking and project management skills.
