Strategies for Parents to Enhance their Child's Social & Emotional Intelligence

Deirdre McCloskey, School Director of Mills International Preschool, explains the benefits of MindUP™ for young children, and provides practical advice and sample activities that can be done at home to enhance your child’s emotional judgement and improve concentration, memory recall, and a general sense of calm and focused attention.

Parents can play a key role in helping their children view the world as full of possibilities and potential.

The MindUP™ programme was devised by The Hawn Foundation in the United States and has been proven to help children monitor and regulate their reactions to emotions, increase empathy, forge stronger relationships, and maintain a healthier, more optimistic outlook. Practising MindUP™ on a daily basis has been show to improve students’ resilience, motivation, and academic performance.
