Mr. Deri Reid brings over two decades of educational expertise to his role as Director of Student Welfare. Since joining Stamford in 2023, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in student wellbeing and pastoral care, working as a Physical Education teacher and Middle School Assistant Principal, and now, leading the whole-school student welfare and pastoral care.
Prior to joining Stamford, Mr. Reid was a founding member of an International School in Hong Kong and spent 10 years developing and delivering a broad educational experience for students from EYFS to Year 13, working within the English National Curriculum, IGCSE, and IBDP frameworks.
Before his move to Hong Kong, Deri spent 12 years in the United Kingdom as Head of Physical Education at a UK School and Sports College in London, where he was also responsible for Regional Athletics Secretary and for establishing performance pathways that led to national representation for many aspiring athletes.
Beyond the classroom, Deri is actively engaged within the Hong Kong community, serving as Head of Youth at a local rugby club and coordinating an academy performance pathway for players aged 12–18.
