Naomi Ngai

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Naomi grew up in a bilingual household attending international schools, thus developing her passion for studying the use of language. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Linguistics at the University of York, which led to her completing a Master of Arts Degree at the UCL Institute of Education in Applied Linguistics. She also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Sunderland. Before joining Stamford, Naomi taught at another international school and is experienced in elementary classrooms. Outside of teaching, Naomi loves to play basketball. When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll find her on the basketball court!

Naomi says, “My passion for education stemmed from my personal experience when I was in school. I studied at the same school in Hong Kong for 14 years and loved the community. My teachers fostered a positive yet challenging environment that made me love learning. Years later, I carry the same philosophy as my teachers by fostering a positive and challenging learning community where all my students thrive. My favorite part of teaching is when students teach me a new way of thinking, and together, we build a love of learning. You can see the joy and love for learning on their face, and that’s when I know I’ve made a difference.”
