Lillian Ip

A lover of languages and different cultures, Lily has worked and lived in Hong Kong, England, Japan, and Canada. After receiving her Bachelor’s in Psychology at the University of York, Lily completed her Trinity Cert TESOL and traveled to Japan, where she taught English for two years. Her experience in Japan led to a growing passion for teaching. After gaining experience working and traveling in Canada, she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education while teaching in an international school in recent years. Lily brings her passion for learning to the classroom in addition to her broad experience working and traveling to instill a global mindset and love for lifelong learning in her students.

Lily says, “As a teacher, I hope to foster respect and open-mindedness within my classroom. I am a student at heart, often sharing my learning and wonderings with my students, and I frequently model problem-solving skills and a growth mindset when approaching something unexpected. After all, learning is full of the unexpected, which makes it exciting! In my classroom, I remind my students that we are all on a learning journey, and it is important to celebrate the steps we each take in our journeys, no matter how seemingly big or small.”
