Ashleigh Shi

Ashleigh transferred from our sister campus in Singapore and is a highly experienced bilingual (Mandarin & English) homeroom teacher with thirteen years of experience. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language & Literature, and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Sydney specializing in Management & Leadership. Ashleigh has experience teaching and curriculum planning for K1 to secondary classes in schools in Singapore, Australia, and China; she excels at curriculum planning and teaching for international student bodies, especially within inquiry-based frameworks.

Ashleigh says, “One of the rewarding feelings is seeing the spark on my students’ faces when they finally understand a concept or a word. Every day, I have the opportunity to instill knowledge and skills in my students for their future. In elementary school, they learn how to forge relationships, social skills, patience, and many other skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. Whether they realize it or not, their personality and character are shaped throughout elementary school, and I hope that I can make a positive impact throughout that process.”
