Stamford American School Hong Kong looks forward to our first graduating class in 2022/2023. We know we are on track to achieve greatness with our excellent Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) results three years in a row. In fact, Stamford HK had the highest MAP growth rate out of all Cognita schools for 2 consecutive years.
*Stamford SG 59% of students exceeded growth targets on average over the past 3 years of data.
What is MAP?
MAP Growth is the most trusted and innovative assessment for measuring achievement and growth in K–12 math, reading, language usage, and science and is used by over 1,000 international schools in 145 countries*. Created by educators for educators, MAP® assessments provide detailed, actionable data about where each child is on their unique learning path so we can personalize learning and also ensure our students are on track for the increasing academic demands as they approach graduation.
The Stamford Singapore Connection
Stamford Hong Kong follows a similar curriculum to Stamford Singapore, and we are closely connected not just by academics but also in our strongest resource-our experienced faculty. Stamford Hong Kong opened with the majority of our leadership positions in key departments transferring from our established Singapore schools, bringing their wealth of knowledge and experience.
Committed to our vision, we retain 85% of our faculty which exceeds the global average for international schools.
Stamford SG Results
We are pleased to announce the results of our sister school, Stamford Singapore who achieved strong results in their IBDP* this year even amongst the challenges faced during online learning.
Stamford Singapore, like Stamford HK is not IB selective and supports all interested students to pursue the IBDP. In 2020, graduates completed the IB course with a 94% pass rate. This is well above the global rate of 78%.
Thus far, the Stamford Singapore Class of 2020 also has been accepted into 33 out of the Top 100 Universities worldwide, such as Boston University, Duke University, Imperial College London, University of Edinburgh, University of Amsterdam and University of Queensland.
At Stamford Hong Kong, like our sister school in Singapore, we are a non-selective and inclusive school. We are proud of the unique pathways we offer to suit students and their interests. We pride ourselves as a school of diverse pathways and subject choices for students as this ultimately equips students for university and beyond. Each student graduates with a US High School Diploma as well as the opportunity to pursue the full International Baccalaureate (IB), the IB course candidate pathway, — the only school in Hong Kong to offer these unique and individualised pathways.
