Yena joins Stamford with over four years of experience teaching Chinese in Hong Kong’s IB Schools. She is passionate about education and language teaching. Yena believes language is a bridge that connects people and the culture behind them. She also thinks every student is unique, so she commits to personalizing teaching for her students and celebrating learning with them. Yena obtained a BA degree in English Literature, an MA degree in Chinese Culture, and PGDE. She holds several certificates, including language proficiency certificates, International Chinese Teachers Certificate, and an IB certificate in teaching Chinese as a second language. She loves exploring new places, taking photos, and writing Chinese calligraphy in her spare time.

Yena says, “When I stay with the students, I feel happy. Being a teacher is a perfect way to continue learning. Students and other educators always inspire me and bring me joy and new ideas. I believe we are teaching for our future, so I have the responsibility to equip my students with strong subject knowledge and skills to face the challenges in their future.”
